Annual Awards Nominees

The Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes excellence each year during the Annual Meeting. The PNRC is currently seeking nominations for six awards. The Executive Board will review all nominees and then finalists will then be announced at our Annual Meeting, on March 19, 2024. After the finalists are announced, voting will be open to all PNRC Member Representatives.

Only one nomination, per category, per member will be considered. Nominations must include the name and contact information of the nominee as well as a qualifying statement. Anonymous nominations will not be accepted. (Please note: Chamber Executive Board Members are not eligible to receive awards during their terms).

The PNRC 2023 Annual Award Recipients are:

Goldfish Swim School Wexford is dedicated to providing trusted swimming lessons for children ages 4 months to 12 years of age; creating an inviting and safe environment where kids can overcome their fears, learn to swim, and have tons of fun doing it through a combination of guided play and a safe environment, which science shows are two things that help little ones build upon their cognitive growth.  Their amazing work extends far beyond the pool by also providing reliable, high-paying, and rewarding employment opportunities for all ages and making a concerted effort to give back generously to the community throughout the year, with partnerships with gold medalist Olympians, aquatic safety organizations, and philanthropic foundations. 

Anthony Savannah enjoys building solid relationships through networking and follow-up, wearing the mission of Passavant Hospital Foundation on his sleeve. Passavant Hospital Foundation supports UPMC Passavant in McCandless and Cranberry, advancing health and wellness through education, outreach, and grant-making.  With 20 years of development, business and brand marketing, and corporate and community fundraising experience, Anthony’s expertise is developing business support through event fundraisers by putting the customer in front of the donor while charitable funds are being raised.  An experienced and driven leader with proven abilities in all phases of public, private and non-profit business development, Anthony is recognized as a motivator who builds strong teams based on trust, respect, and loyalty.

Perry Latimer is the Sport and Corporate Sales Manager for Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau, with her career path being led by her passion for travel, love of sports, and advocating for the businesses of Butler County.  Perry helps drive business into the region through her role at BCTCB, and finds time to actively give back to the community, volunteering for various organizations and causes in the Pittsburgh North Region. Perry currently serves on the PNRC Board of Directors, PNRC Events Committee Chair, Treasurer for Butler County Parks and Recreation, and 2023 President of the Young Community Leaders Board for North Hills Community Outreach.  She can often be found supporting these and other worthy causes by volunteering, attending events, and promoting their programs and initiatives around the region, which led her to become a member of the Multiplying Good Jefferson Awards Class of 2023 through Pittsburgh Changemakers. 

Amy Schafer has been an active member of the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber, volunteering her time and efforts for countless events and various committees. Amy serves on the Ambassador Committee and the Farmers Market Committee. She can regularly be found helping set up and volunteering for the PNRC at the Farmers Market, and assisting with whatever is needed for the PNRC golf outings.  A Dollar Bank Branch Officer 1, Amy promotes a volunteerism mentality with her Dollar Bank Branch Teams, encouraging them to support the PRNC at the farmers market, help prepare things for the golf outing, and more. Amy also helped at the PNRC Holiday Village Market, bringing much joy and excitement for the children by making sure Santa was in attendance. Amy supports the PNRC in any way she can to help the chamber accomplish its goals and initiatives.

Amy Knight is the Owner/Operator of Flour Power Kids Cooking Studios: Pittsburgh which opened in July 2022.  Prior to opening Flour Power, she was the Director of Career Development at the Veterans Leadership Program, a Non-Profit where she oversaw a team that assisted veterans experiencing homelessness with navigating their careers in 31 Counties.  She is a retired Naval Officer who served over 20 years on active duty as an officer and enlisted. While on active duty, she earned a BS in Strategic Intelligence from National Intelligence University and an MSI in Leadership.  She has two beautiful daughters who spend a lot of time at Flour Power. Participating and “sampling” the recipes for upcoming classes.  It has always been her dream to own a small business and she is so excited to share this with her kids!

The Lighthouse Foundation doesn’t just put a bandage on the issues that the people in our communities face.  The staff and volunteers truly care, and work to meet the immediate needs of the families and individuals they serve, while empowering them towards self-sufficiency.  The Lighthouse Foundation operates the largest food pantry in Butler County and is the sole provider of transitional and interim housing for young adults, single parents, and families. With a focus on relationship development, the programs and ministries of the Lighthouse Foundation provide immediate relief while helping equip people with the resources and skills needed to improve their lives for a brighter future. Through high-quality programming including computer classes, financial literacy, healthy cooking classes, a holiday toy shop, and more, The Lighthouse Foundation finds ways every day to provide resources, help, and support for those in need in our community.

The six PNRC Annual Awards are described below:
The Distinguished Business Award
The Distinguished Business Award was established to identify a Chamber company or organization demonstrating a commitment to upholding quality and integrity in the product or service that they sell or provide. They exceed all customer service expectations, display honorable and ethical business operations and practices, and are recognized as leaders in their field. Above all, they demonstrate pride in community involvement and exhibit outstanding service to the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber.

The Young Professional of the Year Award
The Young Professional of the Year Award recognizes the efforts of an outstanding young Chamber member, under the age of 40, who demonstrates professional capabilities, leadership and service to the community. Through their participation in the events and of the PNRC, the Young Professional Award recipient supports the business growth in our economic footprint.

The Women’s Leadership Excellence Award
The Women’s Leadership Excellence Award honors a woman in the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber for their outstanding leadership, achievement, and contributions to the community. They are recognized as an example and inspiration through their mentorship, support, and encouragement of other women.  Personally and professionally, the Women’s Leadership Award recipient positively impacts and inspires others with their dedication and commitment to uplifting, encouraging, and empowering women in the Pittsburgh North Region and beyond.



The Prestigious Business Leader Award
The Prestigious Business Leader Award is given to a Chamber member possessing personal and professional characteristics, including: honesty, sincerity, integrity, benevolence and fairness. This company representative demonstrates outstanding service which results in the advancement and the betterment of the community. Their volunteer efforts have gone above and beyond their business and professional responsibilities to provide assistance to the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber.

The Bruce Conley Outstanding Volunteer Service of the Year Award
The Outstanding Volunteer Service of the Year Award honors a Chamber member who has exemplified outstanding volunteer service on behalf of the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber. The Volunteer of the Year recognizes the hours devoted to serving on committees, task forces, focus groups, as well as working on events, programs and initiatives. An active member of the community, the Volunteer is recognized as an ambassador of the Chamber and its program of work in our economic footprint.

The Nonprofit Excellence Award
The Nonprofit Excellence Award recognizes a Chamber non-profit organization that produces meaningful progress in the community through an outstanding commitment to its mission. They demonstrate an exceptional ability to use their resources for the encouragement and motivation of others to improve the lives of those it serves. This PNRC member non-profit demonstrates a responsiveness to needs in the community through impactful programs, investment of resources, community dialogue and partnership, and long-term strategies to make a difference. Their contributions in helping others is uplifting and provides an inspiration to other organizations.
